Sorah Az-Zalzalah ( The Earthquake )

English - Transliteration

Sorah Az-Zalzalah ( The Earthquake ) - Verses Number 8

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا ( 1 )

Itha zulzilati al-ardu zilzalaha

وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا ( 2 )

Waakhrajati al-ardu athqalaha

وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا ( 3 )

Waqala al-insanu ma laha

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ( 4 )

Yawma-ithin tuhaddithu akhbaraha

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا ( 5 )

Bi-anna rabbaka awha laha

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ ( 6 )

Yawma-ithin yasduru annasuashtatan liyuraw aAAmalahum

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ ( 7 )

Faman yaAAmal mithqala tharratinkhayran yarah

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ ( 8 )

Waman yaAAmal mithqala tharratinsharran yarah

Enjoining Good, Forbidding EvilIbn Taymiyyah said: "This (enjoining good and forbidding evil) is a duty that the entire Ummah is obliged to fulfil. It is what the Ulama know as an obligation of collective responsibility, if a group in society undertook to discharge it, the other members of this society are absolved from it.
